Messi, Neymar outshine Suarez

Luis Suarez had to be content with a 13-minute cameo in his first appearance for Barcelona as Messi and Neymar found the back of the net in a 6-0 friendly drubbing of Leon on Monday night.
Superstars Messi and Neymar had both found the back of the net within 12 minutes against their Mexican opposition, with Neymar adding another to give Barca a 3-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw a the younger generation take the limelight as Moroccan teenager Munir El Haddadi Mohamed netted a brace, before 19-year-old Spanish forward Sandro added a sixth as Suarez was given only 13 minutes in his debut at the Camp Nou.
And new coach Luis Enrique was pleased with his side’s display in their friendly win.
"Well, I think the performance against Leon was very good," the 44-year-old said.
"It's not very difficult when two players of such quality play together, like Messi and Neymar.
"We didn't have Pedro, who wasn't able to play because of a stomach problem but I have many solutions, many possibilities, players with different profiles, and we are looking to have those connection between players of great quality."
Enrique, described by club president Josep Maria Bartomeu as the "most important signing of the season", feels his side can still improve.
"We are interested in having the possession for as long as we can,” he said.
“There were moments where control was lost, and that is not in our interest, we want to control the games, to dominate all aspects of the game."
Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta feels that new signing Luis Suarez needs to be given time in order to adapt to the football in Spain after a quiet, although limited, debut.
“We will give him (Suarez) the time so that he can see he is integrating into the team and he will adapt to the team in training,” he told Barca TV.
“He will get to know our style of play and with his quality he will help us. His teammates will get to know him and the idea is that when he returns, he does so at 100 per cent.”
Suarez was only able to play with the fixture being deemed a friendly, and is set for his official La Liga debut later in the year after his ban ends on 25 October.
