Orlando Pirates’ MultiChoice Diski Challenge star Menzi Masuku made his debut for the senior team in the Telkom Knockout clash on Saturday.
The midfielder had been a star performer for the young Buccaneers throughout the group stage, scoring two goals and collecting two man-of-the-match awards.
Masuku came on as a late substitute against SuperSport United with Pirates trailing 2-0.
That showed the confidence coach Vladimir Vermezovic already has in the youngster, bringing him on at such a critical stage with the team needing someone who would be able to lift them.
It may also be seen as the Serbian’s way to prepare the youngster for the various challenges of the game as early as possible, to speed up his readiness.
